a Loss Only One Pair Away

Brian Costelloe (24-5-07)

Last Tuesday's game proved a handful of things. The main point proven though was that Indoor Cricket is a team sport. If one or two players in the side are off their game... well... disastrous result set in. So that's what happened when Rob and yours truly stepped up to the crease. We had that score board lit up like a flashing Christmas tree! Minus 24 was our end result. We played bad but to the credit of the fielders from Unfinished Business, they took some unbelievable catches at my expense. To top off our luck I could on an extra run at the end which needed a direct hit from the opposite end of the field to effect a run out. Sure enough it was a spot on hit and Rob was out. Just to emphasise the point... we had no luck!

Blackout Have Stumped Stumped

Brian Costelloe (17-5-07)

Details are scares but the main result is that Blackout won last Tuesday's match up against Stumped which will go down as a much needed win with the losses building up as of late. We won after fielding first and having to chase a total of 90 runs. End result was all 4 skins won at 113-90. Big thanks to Harry & Ali from Lions Pride who filled in and help lift the team.

Some Experimenting With the Site to Come

Brian Costelloe (9-5-07)

They'll be some changes coming to the site as it is agreed that while we have a good looking site... well... it's been without much content of late. So here's to kick off the creative juices... a video I spotted on You Tube. I may get encouraged to do some video highlighting of our own soon!

Blackout Knocked About

Brian Costelloe (9-5-07)

It had been sometime since I last donned the Black for the side and I was hoping for a good game to get me back into the Blackout spirit. However it wasn't to be despite what seemed to be a competitive start against the very side that had humiliated us to the tune of 200 runs to something. The opening 2 overs showed promise as we kept them to a measly 3 runs. But they awoke to reveal a devastating batting line up and scored 15 and then 27 runs in the next two overs. Despite then keeping the 2nd pair to 22 runs with great tight bowling we slipped and let the opposition go unchecked to rack up 135 mainly thanks to 2 sixes scored in the double points over to contribute 26 runs more.

Our batting reply was mediocre to say the least except for Chris who inspired myself to sneak loads of extra runs and wear me out in the process! Also Rashid and Richo attempted to make the most of a bad situation in winning their skin as well. However the damage was already done and a convincing win was had by Lakemba Physio.
