Round 9 Line Up
Brian Costelloe (26-01-07)
With Rob and Richo gone OS it's gonna be tight with players over the
next few weeks. But help is on the way. Introducing Ryan. Mark's
been out talent scouting and found this kid smashing pumpkins with a
fence paling. So we've decided we could use that aggression! Hope
you guys make him feel welcome for his Blackout debut!

Everest
Challenge Begins
Brian Costelloe (26-01-07)
This morning I got the brief chance to meet up with Richo and Rob
before they departed for their Asian adventure. I've armed them with
a 40G hard drive so they don't feel too restricted in taking shots
to take back with them. We're hoping to get some pics from the
Everest Base Camp as our fearless leader and Fishtank take on the
world's biggest challenge!
When asked, Richo replied that he was indeed very excited about the
trip with Rob adding that they're calm and collected about the
project. With a brief tear in his eye he turned away and departed...
OK he didn't have a tear. But he did seem like he was very excited
despite not openly showing it!
Keep your eyes peeled for any updates we may get from our dynamic
duo!

Blackout's
Scrappy Win
Brian Costelloe (26-01-07)
Blackout won against a team that was not even earmarked to be played
in our division. Area 2196 were not even in the same postcode when
it came to start time. So Sportsworld mustered up Rednecks for us to
take on.
We let them get off to a rather blistering start. 55 off their first
pair. Not good at all for us! Then the next pair followed that up
with a respectful 30 runs to build the halfway tally to 85. Were we
in for a belting? But Blackout turned it on for the remaining pairs
to restrict the Rednecks to 115.
Col and Tim starred in a great partnership that was only marred by
some minor blemishes. They walked off with 43 runs to their names.
Rashid and Logan failed to really fire but avoided a collapse to
remain on 22 runs. But it was Mark and Todd who set up our win.
Despite 2 run outs they still frustrated the opponents with a half
century which included a 36 run hull in the double points over!
A shaky partnership by yours truly and Langy not only ruined my
season average... it almost cost the game! But with the last two
balls remaining the Cricket Gods smiled like a Chelsea Cat and
allowed me to face 2 wide balls which was a gift 8 runs! I've vowed
to get some batting practice in!

Blackout Send
Spuds Spinning
Brian Costelloe (17-01-07)

Blackout last night put a stamp on their authority over the
competition by snaring a perfect match. Four skins won in convincing
fashion as we pounded Spinning Spuds by over 100 runs. The batting
was on par for the most part but it was the fielding that impressed
me mostly. Run Outs, Stumpings, Catches... we had the lot! As Rob
was unable to make the game on time I assumed the captain of sorts
but Blackout pretty much runs itself and all that was left to do was
determine the bowling order. But when the opposition is being
pounded in this fashion... what's left to do?
